Stunning Watercolour Imagery - The Wild Robot PictureEast 2025 Review

The Wild Robot, Chris Sanders

Lupita Nyong’o terrifically anchors The Wild Robot in which she plays an empathetic robot tasked with raising an orphaned duckling while also navigating her new life. Nyong’o’s performance brings to life the titular character with a warmth buoyancy that matches the rest of the fantastic cast. The water colour-esque art style lends to some stunning imagery, with sound design so vibrant and alive it brings the forest to life. The pacing prevents The Wild Robot from reaching its true potential, as emotional moments are left without much room to breathe, however, for younger audiences this is an easy recommendation.
