Wicked Part 1 (2024) is a visual and emotional masterpiece. The set and costume design are nothing short of extraordinary, immersing the audience in a vibrant, magical world. Beyond the spectacle, the movie delivers a deeply moving exploration of female friendship, rebellion, and the nuanced journey of self-discovery. The film’s ability to intertwine these powerful themes with breathtaking artistry makes it an unforgettable experience.

Wicked Part 1 delves deeply into Elphaba’s emotional turmoil and the challenges she faces, brought to life with Cynthia Eviro’s extraordinary vocal ability that tug at the heartstrings. In contrast, Galinda’s (Ariana Grande) effervescent perkiness creates a dynamic relationship, infusing the narrative with humour. Together, their relationship showcases an exchange of strengths, ultimately shaping the complex transformation that leads to the creation of the Wicked Witch of the West. With its captivating blend of character-driven storytelling and musicality, Wicked is an absolute must-watch of the year.
