Head Way Summit: BLACK TEACHERS UNITE FOR BETTER PAY & CAREER PROGRESSION
Focused on the theme of pay and progression disparity, the summit seeks to unpack the challenges, explore current realities, and envision a future where every Black teacher is recognised, supported, and empowered to thrive in their careers.
Funded by the Racial Justice Fund from Trust for London, and supported by The Social Investment Consultancy and the Community Research Initiative at UCL, The New Black Film Collective presents the Head Way Summit, striking at the intersection of empowerment and change for teachers.
The content of this day was co-created with a diverse group of teachers and educators with lived experience of pay and progression disparities in the UK, with a clear vision of a potential future where Black teachers are respected and valued by the profession. We shall tackle payscale and promotion head on along with other barriers that may be contributing to Racial Inequity.
