Homebound + Q&A

In rural India two close friends not so well off share a special bond. Both have ambitions to join the Indian Police service but their efforts do not give them favorable results. One of them faces racial discrimination at work place due to his caste while the other faces acute financial problems mainly because of his father's ill health. Both find that they can together face their hurdles by supporting each other.

Q&A: Dr Toyeba Mushtaq

Dr. Toyeba Mushtaq is a currently the Head of Curation at UK Asian Film Festival. She is a film scholar, curator, and cultural programmer with over ten years’ experience in festival management,film programming, project delivery, gender and film research. She has successfully written and managed funding bids for the British Film Institute, British Council, and Arts Council England, and continues to bring both strategic and creative expertise to cultural projects. She has played a key role in sourcing and showcasing independent films from the South Asian subcontinent in the UK,using cinema as a platform to spark conversations around stories and communities that are too often underrepresented - or worse, misrepresented - in dominant narratives.
